Shopping at the Should/Will – Elimination Chamber 2020

The Elimination Chamber emanates from Philadelphia, PA on Sunday. I hear the combatants will be Pat’s, Geno’s, John’s Roast Pork, Tony Luke’s, Jim’s, and Campo’s.

Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak

Who should win?

Drew Gulak

I love the idea of Gulak leading a stable of jobbers to surprise victories over established guys. To get them (and the WWE Universe to buy in), he needs to show that his process works. A kickoff show victory against Bryan would do that and wouldn’t hurt Daniel at all.

Who will win?

Drew Gulak

I went back and forth on this one, but settled on Gulak at the last minute. They’re in his home town of Philadelphia, which usually spells bad news, but I think his potential clients (Heath Slater, Curtis Axel, and Drake Maverick) will help out, though they may just storm the ring and cause a disqualification.

Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles – No Disqualification match

Who should win?

Aleister Black

This would be the biggest win of Black’s main roster career and could offset his first loss on Raw, though that was after facing all three members of the OC.

Who will win?

Aleister Black

Paul Heyman loves Aleister and AJ Styles is bulletproof when it comes to losses. The finish will likely be caused by the Undertaker’s music hitting, AJ looking around, then eating a Black Mass. Black gets the win and AJ gets more fuel for his WrestleMania match with Taker.

Andrade (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo – Singles match for the WWE United States Championship

Who should win?

Andrade

They need to keep the belt on Andrade and allow him to have a feud with non-Latinos. He can wrestle other people, guys! Plus, I don’t know if Carrillo is championship-worthy at this point.

Who will win?

Humberto Carillo

This is another one that I settled on last minute. I think they may put the belt on Carrillo so he can be the champ leading up to the inevitable “Here’s a bunch of flippy guys, let’s put them in a ladder match and hope they don’t die” US Championship fight at WrestleMania. It could also add an extra wrinkle to his feud with Angel Garza and allow Andrade to move into the Main Event picture.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (c) vs. Seth Rollins and Murphy – Tag Team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Who should win?

The Street Profits

The Profits were just crowned. No need to take the belts off of them already.

Who will win?

The Street Profits

They keep the belts and move on, maybe to AOP, the actual tag team in the Monday Night Messiah’s stable. Rollins will peel off to ramp up his feud with Kevin Owens and they’ll probably move Murphy to the ladder match mentioned above.

Braun Strowman (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn – 3-on-1 Handicap match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Who should win?

Sami Zayn

Can you imagine how unbearable Zayn would be if he had the title AND could boast that he pinned Braun Strowman? That’s how you build heat without making Braun look bad, since he is fighting three guys.

Who will win?

Braun Strowman

They can barely remember that Sami can wrestle, Cesaro is just out there to make people look good while jobbing, and Shinsuke is content with living the rest of his days as a beach bum, according to reports. Braun retains and embarrasses three of the best wrestlers on the roster.

The Miz and John Morrison (c) vs. The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) vs. Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode – Elimination Chamber match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Who should win?

The Miz and John Morrison

They just won the belts, so there’s no reason to drop them here. At least wait until WrestleMania so you can have a moment for the team that will eventually dethrone them.

Who will win?

Heavy Machinery

They’re going to strike while the iron is hot, especially since Otis may be the most over talent on SmackDown, if the pop he received on Friday during a hot tag is any indication.

Natalya vs. Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Ruby Riott vs. Sarah Logan – Elimination Chamber match for a WWE Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 36

Who should win?

Shayna Baszler

Let’s just go through the list, shall we? First, the entire Riott Squad can be eliminated – Ruby Riott just came back, Liv Morgan’s big build-up has already been squandered, and I’m surprised Creative remembered that Sarah Logan was there. Natalya is next and though I love Nattie, this is not her spot.

So that leaves Asuka and Shayna. Asuka just closed her story with Becky Lynch, so there’s no point to run it back already. Plus, she needs to defend her Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania. Baszler is the obvious, and correct, choice here.

Who will win?

Shayna Baszler

Please see the explanation above. Plus, this could lead to a reappearance by Ronda Rousey to add some juice to the WrestleMania match, even if it’s just to be in Shayna’s corner.
